Since AGU is such a widely-attended conference, I got to catch up with friends I rarely see. Below are some pictures I managed to snag of a couple of them. Last weekend, the Shupla family and I went to Bay Area Park to take portraits. The kids had a blast playing on the swings and finding cool stuff to look at in the water, and everyone was a great sport about the not-so-perfect weather (it gets cold even in Houston occasionally!). Juliane and I went down to Galveston yesterday. It was an absolutely gorgeous day at the beach. She let me take some photos of her during the sunset when the light was nice. These are a few of my favorites. My grandma turned 90 last month, so a lot of my family gathered in New Braunfels, Texas to celebrate! I spent the 4th of July in Austin with Emily, Sara, and Sara’s boyfriend Kevin. We went to the lake, ate a ton of food, visited my grandma, and watched fireworks over the lake from a parking garage near where I used to work. It was a great day! My amazing grandma turned 90 last month. I made her a photo book using Apple’s Aperture program with photos from throughout her life and letters from friends and family (hence the lack of pictures for the last few months!) for her birthday. I didn’t have any good recent pictures of her with my immediate family, [...] Just before the 4th of July, I got the Photek Softlighter II. I love the Softlighter! It is very easy to set up and gives off gorgeous soft light. Sara let me try it out on her before taking portraits of my family. She’s always a great model and we have lots of fun with [...] We took a stroll by Town Lake with Sara when Em and I were in Austin and stopped for a few pictures. Em and I took a bunch of pictures in downtown Houston and on the beach in Galveston a couple of weeks ago. I got to see Screaming Sunday rock on New Year’s Eve! They were awesome! |
