San Francisco

In early December, I headed to San Francisco for the annual Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union.  While most of my time was spent at the conference, I did find time to catch up with friends who live far away and see some of the sights of San Francisco.

Nighttime in San Francisco

We did a lot of walking around San Francisco at night, which gave me a lot of opportunities to get some long-exposure photos.  I really liked the giant bow and arrow on the edge of the water near the Bay Bridge.  Very cool!

Downtown Houston / Galveston portraits

Em and I took a bunch of pictures in downtown Houston and on the beach in Galveston a couple of weeks ago.

Downtown Austin

I made a seven-picture panorama of the downtown Austin skyline at dusk, and I can’t decide if I like it better in color or black and white.  I also got a decent shot of the moon.

Black and whites

In my living room over my couch I have a picture wall with a dozen 8×10 pictures.  Previously, they had been all in color, but we decided to get a new set of different pictures printed in black and white.  They look so much better!  The color ones were nice but all of them in [...]
