The Halligan Family

Eve had not had pictures taken with her husband and kids in quite a while and wanted to give prints as Christmas presents to her family.  I met them at Bay Area Park about an hour before sunset one Saturday in late October to take their portraits.  We first had the kids run around the [...]

The Nutcracker!

My friend Colleen had never seen The Nutcracker and always wanted to, so I got us tickets for her birthday.  We were seated in the lower balcony, so we had a view of the entire stage, as well as the pit orchestra!  The dancers were fantastic and the music was phenomenal.  We had a great [...]

Sam at the Capitol

The State Capitol Building in Austin is an impressive building made of pink granite from the Texas Hill Country.  I took Sam there to wander around at sunset one of the nights we were in town for the 4th of July.

Sara and family at the park!

The last time I was in Austin I got to take some pictures of my best friend Sara and her parents in a neighborhood park.  We walked around the park a bit and people-watched.  They are fabulous people, and it’s always wonderful to spend time with them.

Extended family portraits

Cathy contacted me because her parents’ 50th wedding anniversary was coming up and she wanted to give them pictures of their entire family.  She, her husband and children, her sister, her brother and his family, her parents, and one tiny, fluffy dog all gathered at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown, Texas a couple of weeks [...]

My not-so little brother

When I was in Austin I got a picture of my younger (but no longer little) brother Matthew.  There were some nice clouds and I barely made it in time to get the last of the sunset light on his face.

Portraits of Terri and Brittany

While I was in Austin, I took portraits of Terri and her daughter, Brittany.  It was cold but pretty out so we headed to a park near their house for some outdoor pictures before going home to take pictures with their dogs in front of the Christmas tree.  It’s always fun taking pictures with them [...]

Long-time friends

One of the nice things about being back in Austin over Christmas was getting to see people I’ve been friends with for a long time but don’t get to see often.  A few of them even let me take pictures of them. My friend Erin, who now lives in Oahu

Christmas!

My parents, my brother Matthew, my grandma, my dog Crash, my two cats Kepler and Apollo, and I all gathered at my parents’ house for presents and brunch on Christmas morning.  Poor Apollo was terrified of Crash (who was just as afraid of him) and spent most of the time upstairs.  Kepler ventured into the [...]

People in San Francisco

Since AGU is such a widely-attended conference, I got to catch up with friends I rarely see.  Below are some pictures I managed to snag of a couple of them.
