Amy and Michael’s engagement portraits

I shot Amy and Michael’s engagement portraits a couple of weeks ago. We started out at Amy’s apartment complex, went to a few locations in the Med Center, and ended up wandering around in the fog downtown. They were adorable together and we had a blast!

I took portraits of Lindsay, Derek, and their six-month-old Adelyn last weekend. We started out indoors with some studio shots, and then moved to Clear Lake Park later in the afternoon when the light was nice. It was cold but Adelyn had fun rolling around in her cute bear ear coat!

I took some portraits of Terri’s German Shepherds in Terri’s backyard in Austin. They were very well behaved and enjoyed all the treats they got for taking such good pictures!

When we were in Austin in October, I took a few pictures of Emily downtown and at the Capitol at night.

Leonids meteor shower

Em and I went down to Galveston at 3am to watch the Leonids meteor shower. Unfortunately, there weren’t a lot of meteors, but I did get pictures of a couple.

Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens

We had some spare time in Arizona so we spent a few hours at the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens. They had a monarch butterfly exhibit, and I got some pictures of all the cactus and desert plants.

Scenic Arizona drive

Once in Arizona, we went on a scenic drive going north on AZ87 out of Flagstaff. As the road curves around through the mountains, it’s absolutely gorgeous. I made this video on my Canon 7D. The song is “That’s What’s Wrong” by Good Old War. The road was a bit bumpy at times, but it was a fun drive!

The next day we left the Harvard Hotel, drove by the Fort Davis City Hall building, and took the scenic route back to I-10 through the Davis Mountains.

On our way out to Arizona from Houston, Em and I stopped for the night in Fort Davis, TX. We saw a gorgeous sunset with some amazing mammatus clouds and stayed in the fabulous Harvard Hotel.

After we finished at the blue tile wall, we headed over to the Blanton Museum of Art. Unfortunately the yellow tubing sculpture/art installation was gone, but there were some great columns outside the museum to take pictures by.
